B Bear Jamison

B Bear is an award winning artist, painting in plein aire as well as in her studio. Her first experience was painting with Hester Donnely in Post Office Alley in Wilmington, NC at the age of 10 and has work in private collections in Wilmington, NC, Raleigh, Charlotte,
and the greater New York area. She graduated with an Art Education degree from UNC-Chapel Hill
and has found art to be a life long joy. Representing pieces of life in oil on canvas is a challenge
she pursues with great enthusiasm.

“Some of the big names (in the Wonderful Wilmington Art Show) are going to be MJ Cunningham, Jenny Wright, Fran LaFontaine, Bob Leroy, Roger Cates, Barbara Jamison and Betty Brown. Each artist has made a memorable mark on the local art crowd and will undoubtedly be bringing pieces of their signature styles to the mix. Beauty is not often seen in the same ways by different artists, and “Wonderful Wilmington” will provide a chance to see our area through the eyes of our various artists……Jamison is the acting vice president of the WAA with an art degree from UNC-Chapel Hill. Her portfolio consists of coastal oil paintings depicting local wetlands, beaches and the houses that watch over them. A subdued yet blissful palette complements the sometimes stormy landscape of our coast, giving a distinct contribution to the show. “It has been a pleasure to draw and paint all these years,” Jamison says. “The water, travels and people I meet are my sources of inspiration.”
